East Patchogue NY Homes for Sale

East Patchogue is a neighborhood in Suffolk County’s Town of Brookhaven on the South Shore of Long Island, New York. It offers more affordable homes, beautiful beaches, breathtaking sunset vistas and plenty of waterfront recreation on Patchogue Bay.

Local Area Information

East Patchogue is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Suffolk County’s Town of Brookhaven on the South Shore of Long Island, New York, between the villages of Patchogue and Bellport. Other neighboring communities include North Patchogue to the west, Holtsville to the northwest, Medford to the north and North Bellport to the northeast.

East Patchogue contains the former hamlet of Hagerman, which had its own Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) station between 1890 and 1929. Though Hagerman is no longer distinct from the rest of its surrounding areas and its name is hardly being used, the Hagerman Fire Department still exists and serves all of East Patchogue. Other neighborhoods include Miramar Beach, Patchogue Shores and South Country Shores, among others, many of which are just minutes away from the beach and afford beautiful views of the sunset over the bay.

The quiet community offers homes that are more affordable than the rest of Long Island. The houses range from single-family homes to multifamily housing developments, from summer cottages to Contemporaries. The healthy real estate market offers new constructions, waterfront homes with captivating water views, undeveloped vacant lots, rentals, accessory apartments, potential mother-daughter, and homes with a pool.

East Patchogue offers a number of recreational facilities, such as boat ramps, beaches and parks. Other points of interest include the Smith-Rourke House and Swan River Schoolhouse, both of which are historic sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Avery Homestead, also known as the Swan River Nursery, is another historic site located in the area. Much of the hamlet uses the 11772 ZIP code, and a small southeastern part uses 11713.

The community lies approximately 60 miles east of Manhattan in New York City and is served by the Patchogue Station and Bellport Station via the Montauk Branch of the LIRR. Driving to or from the city takes about an hour and 27 minutes to an hour and three quarters via the Long Island Expressway, Northern State Parkway or Southern State Parkway.
