Great Neck Gardens is an unincorporated neighborhood and census-designated place (CDP) on the Great Neck peninsula in the Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County, on Long Island, New York. It is divided into the 11023 and 11021 ZIP codes, one or both of which are shared with the surrounding communities: the village of Great Neck to the north and east and the villages of Kensington and Great Neck Estates to the south and west, respectively.

The area’s name is hardly used partly because it was not incorporated. Created for the 2000 US Census, the Great Neck Gardens CDP had a land area of 0.171 square miles in the 2020 US Census, making it the third smallest CDP in North Hempstead Town, next to Saddle Rock Estates and Harbor Hills, and the sixth smallest among the 194 CDPs on Long Island. It also had a population count of 1,268 and was the sixth least populous among the 67 CDPs in Nassau County.

Located roughly 16 miles east of Manhattan, New York City, Great Neck Gardens is composed of mostly single-family homes and a few multifamily residences. These homes offer a variety of options for buyers, including 4-bedroom homes with private pools, luxury residences, potential mother-daughter and legal accessory apartments. Beaches & Parks

As part of the Great Neck Park District, locals enjoy the use of several district parks. The 13-acre Allenwood Park has facilities such as a baseball/softball field, tennis court, gazebo and restrooms. Cutter Mill Park encompasses 2.5 acres and features a basketball court, spray pad, World War II memorial, picnic tables and restrooms, while the one-acre Ravine Park has a walking path, gardens and wooded surroundings.

Firefighters Park is made up of two acres of a firefighter-themed recreational facility and is home to a spray pad, gazebo, memorial for a local hero firefighter, picnic areas and restrooms. The 2.5-acre Thomaston Park includes a basketball court, gazebo, game tables and horseshoe pits, while Upland Park offers a basketball court, child-sized train and other play equipment within its one-acre area.
