Kings Point is an incorporated village on the northern tip of the Great Neck peninsula in the Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County, on the fabled North Shore of Long Island, New York. It adjoins the villages of Great Neck and Saddle Rock on the south and the rest is surrounded by water: the Long Island Sound on the north, Little Neck Bay on the west and Manhasset Bay on the east.

Incorporated in 1924, the village is named in honor of the King family that once owned large parcels of land in the region. Prior to that, it was named Hewlett’s Point after the Hewlett family that also owned land in the community. The name is still sometimes used and refers to the northern tip of the area. It is said that the inspiration for the West Egg location in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby was the Great Neck area, particularly Kings Point, and East Egg was the village of Sands Point in the Port Washington area.

Located in the 11024 and 11023 ZIP codes, approximately 18 miles northeast of Midtown Manhattan, New York City, Kings Point today remains an affluent waterfront community with upscale single-family homes and multifamily houses, many of which boast impressive water views.
