It is bordered by the neighborhoods of Malverne Park Oaks, North Lynbrook, Lynbrook, Valley Stream, North Valley Stream, Franklin Square and Lakeview. The village is known for its suburban setting with tree-lined streets, well-maintained homes and green spaces. The area’s earliest white settlers are believed to have arrived at the turn of the 19th century, when many of the older homes in the village were built. Its name, which means “green park,” comes from the town of Malvern, England, which is known for its natural mineral springs and lovely landscape. Incorporated in 1921, the village began to grow in the post-World War II era as more and more people moved to Long Island in search of a suburban lifestyle.

If you’re looking for a spacious house with plenty of room to grow, consider one of the 4-bedroom homes in the area. Many of the homes feature first-floor bedrooms, making them ideal for those who prefer single-level living.
