Local Area Information

It shares land borders with Syosset and Woodbury on the north, Bethpage on the south, Hicksville on the west, Old Bethpage on the southeast and Melville on the east, which is in the Town of Huntington in Suffolk County.

Like The Seasons at Plainview, Country Pointe is a 55+ community offering 2-bedroom condos with a basement, though the latter also includes homes with a garage.

Plainview houses range from 1-bedroom rental properties to 4-bedroom homes to grander dwellings and may feature first-floor bedrooms and private pools among other architectural highlights and amenities. The diverse assortment of options in the housing inventory also includes new constructions and potential mother-daughter.

Residents enjoy a variety of parks nestled between houses, one of the factors that placed Plainview on the list of the nicest neighborhoods on Long Island. While it is mostly a suburban residential community, it has vast acres of commercial properties on top of its many shopping centers, medical and office buildings as well as strip malls with major supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies and other establishments.

The hamlet uses the Plainview, NY 11803 ZIP code, which it shares with some parts of Bethpage, and has a volunteer fire department, public library, school system and water district that it shares with Old Bethpage. The Nassau County Police Department’s Second and Eighth Precincts provide law enforcement to the community. The Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library is considered one of the best in Nassau County and recognized as a “5-Star Library” by Library Journal.
